Consulting Services
Strategic advisory for organizations establishing content rights protection, governance frameworks, and response strategies in the AI era. We work with legal, content, and business leadership to document rights position, assess exposure, evaluate response options, and develop decision-making infrastructure.
Core Consulting Engagement Types
Most consulting work falls into one of four categories, each mapping to specific pillars of the AI Rights Readiness Framework™. Engagements are scoped based on content volume, organizational complexity, and urgency. Typical duration ranges from two weeks for focused assessments to three months for comprehensive framework implementation.
Rights Protection & Documentation Assessment
Evaluation of your organization's ability to protect and govern content rights in the AI era, including ownership documentation quality, copyright registration status, contract terms affecting AI use rights, and governance infrastructure. Produces a written assessment identifying documentation gaps, contract ambiguities, and organizational readiness to pursue any response strategy—enforcement, licensing, exclusion, or monitoring.
Deliverables
- Written protection assessment with findings and risk ratings
- Ownership documentation gap analysis by content category
- Copyright registration status and remediation priorities
- Contract term inventory affecting AI rights
- Governance capability evaluation and recommendations
Licensing & Contract Review (AI-Specific)
Analysis of existing agreements to identify which contracts permit or restrict AI training use, extraction of relevant provisions, and assessment of whether current terms position you favorably for AI-era negotiations. Also includes review of proposed AI licensing agreements for unfavorable terms, ambiguous scope, inadequate audit rights, or provisions that could limit future optionality.
Deliverables
- Contract-by-contract inventory of AI rights status
- Extracted relevant clauses with interpretation
- Red-flag analysis of proposed agreements
- Negotiation guidance on specific terms
AI Risk & Exposure Mapping
Investigation of whether and how your content appears in AI training datasets, evaluation of legal and commercial risk from identified use, and assessment of enforcement options. Includes analysis of public disclosures by AI developers, examination of available training data documentation, and comparison of your content characteristics against known dataset attributes.
Deliverables
- Exposure report identifying probable dataset inclusion
- Risk assessment by content category and AI developer
- Enforcement option analysis with cost-benefit evaluation
- Strategic recommendation on response approach

Development of organizational approach to AI licensing decisions, including criteria for evaluating licensing opportunities, tiered pricing models based on use case and exclusivity, standard term sheets reflecting organizational requirements, and internal decision-making processes. Frameworks are customized to your content portfolio, market position, competitive dynamics, and organizational priorities.
Deliverables
- Written licensing strategy framework
- Decision criteria and approval workflows
- Model term sheets for common scenarios
- Pricing guidance based on market comparables
What Clients Receive
Written Assessments & Findings
Documented evaluation of your current position, including specific findings on documentation quality, contract terms, governance capabilities, and identified risks. Assessments include evidence basis, confidence levels, and areas requiring further investigation.
Strategic Recommendations
Actionable guidance on licensing strategy, enforcement options, governance implementation, or contract negotiation. Recommendations are prioritized, include implementation considerations, and identify organizational dependencies and resource requirements.
Decision-Making Frameworks
Structured approaches to evaluating licensing opportunities, assessing enforcement actions, or prioritizing governance investments. Frameworks include decision criteria, approval workflows, pricing guidance, and term negotiation priorities customized to your organization.
Model Documents & Templates
Term sheets, contract provisions, documentation standards, or governance policies adapted to your requirements. Documents serve as starting points for your legal counsel and business affairs teams, not as final contracts.
Stakeholder Presentations
Executive briefings translating technical findings and strategic recommendations into decision-oriented presentations for boards, executive teams, or business unit leadership. Materials designed for audiences without specialized AI or IP backgrounds.
How Consulting Integrates With the Platform
Consulting engagements frequently identify the need for systematic rights documentation, ongoing monitoring, or license management infrastructure. Organizations that conclude they require operational capabilities beyond spreadsheets and manual processes may choose to implement the RightsWise platform.
The platform is not required to engage consulting services. Many clients work with us purely for assessment and strategy, then implement recommendations using internal systems, external counsel, or other vendors. For organizations that do adopt the platform, consulting work informs initial configuration, documentation standards, and governance workflows.
Conversely, platform clients sometimes engage consulting for specific needs: analysis of a complex licensing proposal, assessment of newly discovered exposure, or development of organizational frameworks that extend beyond technical implementation. The two offerings are complementary but independent.
Discuss Your Situation
Initial consultations assess whether your organization would benefit from advisory engagement and, if so, which type of work would address your immediate needs.
